 Benefits of Neighborhood Watch
There are obvious benefits with Neighborhood Watch volunteers
their communities have experienced throughout the years such as:
       • a reduction in crime
      a better quality of life
a greater sense of security, responsibility, and personal control
      building community pride and unity
preparing for helping others and ourselves in our community
providing law enforcement agencies with volunteer support year round
becoming the extra “eyes and ears” of law enforcement personnel
and therefore reduce law enforcement‘s burden

Some Vehicles were broken into on the EQ Side of Spring Valley Lake.
I do not know how many but will follow up next week.
Residents need to remove or place items out of sight and lock
all doors on your vehicles. It’s warm, school is out and burglars
stay out later. Don’t give them an easy target by leaving items
in plain sight on the seat or elsewhere.
Today Neighborhood Watch is one of the most active groups in
Spring Valley Lake. Residents can now sign up individually and
become part of the Community Neighborhood watch.
Call Hank or Pat McGill at 760-951-7218 for information on starting
or joining the community watch.  Now is also the time to place your
order with Pat the Rock Lady.

Apple Valley Police Report
SVL Equestrian Community
I reported last week that vehicles were broken into on the
Equestrian side of Spring Valley Lake and that I would get
more information.  Five vehicles were burglarized. 1- on Caballero,
2- on Bay Meadows, and 2- on Indian River. The police reports
show that 4 of them became Grand Theft due to the value of items
taken. In talking to residents on the Equestrian side of Spring Valley
Lake, I find that many crimes are not reported to the Police Department.
As you know the Police Department cannot be on every street at
all times. Neither can Citizen Patrol or Public Safety.
That’s why Neighborhood Watch was started by the Sheriff’s Association
over 30 years ago. Neighborhood Watch Residents are the most reliable
crime prevention ever invented. Neighbors know who belongs on your
street and what they are doing there.  Neighbors looking out for each
other and learning to report crime will make your neighborhood crime
free on short order.  Call Hank McGill for information on Neighborhood
Watch. He has the information you need and it’s free. 760-951-7218.
